Its a beautiful place to stay, just off the main road. It was very peaceful and full of the sounds of nature. The location is on a bird of prey reserve which was lovely to have a walk around and look at the birds. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place, beautiful clear sky and very calming. It would be beautiful and green in the summer months.The place is very well equip and beautifully decorated and both Graham and Gaty were very welcoming and friendly, coming to met us when we arrived and providing some with the extra bits we needed and was happy to show us around. It is lovely and quirky and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the area.The hot tub is a lovely touch and was also very enjoyable.Its a short drive to amazing walks in the area and I imagine would be just as good as a stay in weekend with the log burner keeping the place nice and toasty.A really lovely place with some character. Pleasant welcome and was nice to see the birds. Nice and relaxing with a few nice walks nearby, only negative really was they were having the driveway resurfaced. This place was absolutely perfect in every aspect. It is a very spacious lodge with quality furniture and great facilities. The hot tub was an absolute must for me. It is very well maintained and was so relaxing to enjoy. The location is great for the Lake District without the price of the Lake District. Very good value for money. We came here with the intention of relaxing with our 10 week old on the first official holiday. We wanted somewhere quiet, access to walks and no to far away from a town if needed. This is exactly what we got. We walked around the woods, looked at the very impressive birds they have on-site. We loved our get away to the Bird Nest. The location was peaceful and private but easy to find. The hosts provided a fantastic welcome guide and video on how to find the property which was super helpful. We'd like to say a big thank you to Marianne who looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. The hot tub was a huge plus. It was very clean and the fairy lights were a lovely touch - it was fantastic to relax in with a drink after a day of exploring.
